I just found another original Knutsen photo in my files that I somehow overlooked during last month’s blog. Not a great photo, but a great lineup – two Knutsen HGs with bari sax! (wouldn’t you love to have heard them?).
I was able to differentiate one of the two Seattle-era HGs and give it an Inventory number (HGS93).
I also just received the next one – a small photo with “1914” written on the front, which makes sense, as the blacktop Knutsen was built c.1912-1913. Not enough detail to read its label, unfortunately! Interestingly though, this specimen seems to match exactly the instrument shown on Knutsen’s “Harp Guitar Factory” label and the next “New Hawaiian Family” labels. For that reason, it will share the Inventory number, HGS18.
And this small, but very cool photograph of a Dyer player, re-listed several times on eBay, recently sold.
I added these 3 to the previous blog also, so they’d all be in one place.
